Started on May 1st and concluded on September 15th, the 2018 clay shooting season saw Fiocchi Team compete in seven total championships: four ISSF World Cup stages — in Guadalajara (MEX), Changwon (KOR), Siggiewi (MLT) and Tucson (USA) — two ISSF Junior World Cups — in Sydney (AUS) and Suhl (GER) — and the 52nd ISSF World Championship in Changwon, the most awaited of the whole year 2018. Here’s Fiocchi Team’s numbers: 67 total starts in the four World Cup stages. 28 athletes competing at the ISSF World Championship. 12 nations and 5 continents represented along the season. 24 total medals won: 9 golds, 6 silvers, 9 bronzes. 17 at the ISSF World Cup, 7 al Campionato del Mondo. 20 medals won in trap, 8 in the individual event and 12 in the mixed team one. 4 medals won in skeet. 15 medals won by men, 9 won by women. Furthermore, seven of our shooters won multiple medals in 2018: Italy’s Emanuele Buccolieri claimed two silver medals during the ISSF World Cup Series. France’s Melanie Couzy ha vinto il bronzo individuale e l’oro a squadre a Tucson. Italy’s Lorenzo Ferrari won individual bronze and team gold among juniors at the World Championship. Great Britain’s Aaron Heading climbed on the podium in Siggiewi, where he took gold, and in Changwon, where he pocketed the World Championship bronze. Slovakia’s Zuzana Rehak Stefecekova secured four gold medals along the season: two in the mixed team event, in Changwon and Siggiewi, and two at the ISSF World Championship, both in the individual and team event. Italy’s Gabriele Rossetti climbed on the podium in both Changwon and Siggiewi, respectively taking silver and bronze. Finland’s Vesa Tornroos won individual bronze and team gold in Guadalajara.
