The Italian national Biathlon team won the first medal of this international season at the IBU World Cup stage in Ruhpolding thanks to Dorothea Wierer’s great performance, winner of the bronze medal in the Sprint Women competition.

The champion from Alto Adige was the protagonist of a great race, with no mistakes at the shooting range where she can count on the performances of the Fiocchi Biathlon line (Exacta Winter, Official Winter, and TT Winter), perfect for its reliability and precision even in very difficult weather conditions. After hitting all the targets, she was very fast on skis in the final lap and she finished at the third place, winning the bronze.

The German stage ended with other good results for the Italian national team: Dorothea Wierer reached the 7th place in the Pursuit, the men's relay team finished at the 4th place, the women’s one at the 6th.

“We are very satisfied with Dorothea’s first medal and with the progress of the Italian national team, which we proudly support - said  Daniele Palmieri, Fiocchi Chief Marketing & Commercial Officer - These results are a good omen for the next international events - the Italian World Cup stage in Anterselva and the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing - where Fiocchi will be alongside the Azzurri once again”.
