The curtain has fallen on the second stage of the Biathlon World Cup, celebrated in Hochfilzen (AUT) from the 7th to the 20th of December. The achievements of Italy National Team include a bronze medal conquered once again by Dorothea Wierer, reigning world champion and leading athlete of Fiocchi Team. The athlete from Alto Adige conquered the third step of the podium in the Mass Start race, after an excellent skiing performance tarnished by only one mistake at the shooting rage, where also this year she can count on the performance of the Fiocchi Biathlon line. “I am satisfied with this podium, which encourages me to continue working to reach my best shape as soon as possible - claimed Wierer after the race - This week I got good feelings, but the way to the top is still long”. In addition to the medal in the Mass Start race, the Italian champion got good placings also in the other races, which made her reach the 6th place in the general ranking with 304 points. Among men, the best in the Austrian stage was Lukas Hofer, who confirms to be in good shape reaching excellent placings in all the races. He is 17th in the general ranking. The Biathlon World Cup stops for the Christmas break and will continue in Oberhof from the 4th to the 17th of January. After that, it will be the turn of the Italian stage in Antholz, form the 18th to the 24th of January.
