The curtain falls on the first stage of the Biathlon World Cup 2019-2020, celebrated in Oestersund, Sweden, from November 30th to December 8th. A debut that confirmed Dorothea Wierer and the Italian national team at the top of the sport at the international level, thanks to excellent performances on skis and to surgical precision at the shooting range, where the Italian team use Fiocchi ammunitions. The first satisfaction of the season for the Italian team came in the mixed relay where Lisa Vittozzi, Dorothea Wierer, Lucas Hofer and Dominik Windisch won the gold medal at the end of an amazing performance, in which the Italian athletes beat two strong teams like Norway and Sweden. The next day, Dorothea Wierer enchanted the Swedish audience with a masterpiece in the women's Sprint race, climbing to the first step of the podium and winning the second gold medal in as many races. A real supremacy for the Italian athlete, winner of the World Cup last season, who already appeared to be in great shape. The last medal won was bronze and came from the men's relay where Lukas Hofer, Thomas Bormolini, Daniele Cappellari and Dominik Windisch surprised and gave Italy a medal that in this format had been missing for almost two years. "Congratulations to Dorothea and the athletes of the Italian national team - President Stefano Fiocchi commented with satisfaction - For us it is really an honor to support these athletes and to climb with them in international podiums. This exciting start is a good omen for the next races: come on guys".
