A gold medal and some good placings: this is the achievement of Italy National Biathlon Team at the World Cup in Kontiolahti (FIN), which officially opened the international season. Italy’s success is the success of “Queen” Dorothea WIerer, who got on the top step of the podium in the individual race thanks to a perfect performance at the shooting range, where she can count on the performances of the Fiocchi line this year, too. The Italian athlete, Fiocchi Team’s pillar, signed her 12th victory of her career in an individual race, the fifth in this specialty, confirming to be one of the best claimants to win the crystal globe. The Kontiolahti stage, ended without any other medal for the Italian team, highlighted Lukas Hofer’s good shape, as he is collecting good placings in all the races, giving excellent sings for the continuation of the season. In the women general ranking, at the end of the stage, Wierer was the best among the Italian women: 9th position with 92 points. Among men, the best Italian was Hofer: 16th place with 103 points. The Biathlon World Cup will now continue in Hochfilzen (AUT) with 6 scheduled races from 11 to 13 December. Come on Italy, come on Fiocchi Team!
